How to care for your piano

How often should I have my piano tuned?

Twice a year is standard, once a year is minimum.

Where is the ideal placement in the house?

An inside wall is best, away from windows and air vents, including intake vents.

How do I help my piano in the Winter months?

In Chicago it is best to provide humidity in the room in the Winter months while the heater is on.

For more hard to handle situations a Technician may install a humidity control system on the piano itself.

Why must I tune at least once a year if my piano doesn't sound too bad?

Pianos must be regularly tuned because they drop in overall pitch over time.
